Rhonda Marie was born and raised in Raleigh, North Carolina. She showed a love of dance at an early age and always performed for friends and family. At the age of 3 her mother enrolled her in ballet and tap classes at The Raleigh School of Dance Arts under the direction of the late Walter Stroud.
At 14 she became a student at The North Carolina School of the Arts majoring in modern dance under Richard Gain and Mabel Robinson. She was also a member of the Raleigh Civic Ballet for 8 years.

Rhonda is a graduate of Needham B. Broughton high school & Louisburg College where she was voted Homecoming Queen at both schools by her peers. At Louisburg College she put her dancing skills into play by choreographing a stage production of Shenandoah. Later in her first year of college she had the opportunity to work with her idol Debbie Allen in the film “Stompin’ at the Savoy” in Wilmington, NC. That opportunity led to more dance roles and featured parts in TV movies and Feature films in the North Carolina area.

While working for Midway Airlines as a flight attendant Rhonda booked a supporting role in a CBS TV mini series called “Shake Rattle and Roll”. She played Lucille a member of a 60’s singing group called the Emeralds along with Samaria Graham and Chante Moore. In promoting the series she was featured in several magazines including Harpers Bazaar, People, TV Guide, Black Hair and US Weekly.
In 2003 she relocated to Miami, Florida and started a commercial career and learned the production side of the business working as a casting assistant for Ethnicity Model Management.

Currently, Rhonda resides in Los Angeles, CA and has appeared in several productions as well as Wilde Salome a film by Al Pacino. She is a regular crewmember for HBO’s hit show True Blood and a regular on ABC’s hit show Private Practice. In 2008 Rhonda also fulfilled another goal of starting a production company named Goldie Belle that also includes other artists in the entertainment industry.

2009 NBA CHAMPIONSHIP WEEKEND

VICKSBURG, MS- July 16, 2009 - Strategic Sports Management, LLC &
Kstrut PR & Marketing Group presents The 2009 NBA Championship
Weekend hosted by Josh Powell #21 of the Los Angeles Lakers to be held
in Vicksburg, MS, July 30, July 31 & August 1, 2009. The 2009
NBA Championship Weekend will be hosted personally by NBA Champion
Josh Powell #21 of the Los Angeles Lakers. This three-day weekend will
include a three-day Basketball Camp for youth ages 6-17 to be held at
Vicksburg High School from July 30 thru August 1, 2009. The first night
of festivities will include a Meet and Greet/Celebrity Domino
Tournament at the Luxury Ware House Resort in Vicksburg, MS. The final
night of festivities will include a Celebrity Red Carpet Party at the
Vicksburg Convention Center hosted personally by Josh Powell of the NBA
Champion Los Angeles Lakers. Special Invited guest include: Los Angles
Lakers Teammates, Vicksburg Mayor Paul Winfield, Brandon Bass of the
Orlando Magic, Dwight Howard of the Orlando Magic and James Singleton of
the Dallas Mavericks. There also will be a special live performance
by Amar Khalil, lead singer of the the hit group Tony Toni Tone'.

Josh Powell is a mutual client of Karen Strothers-Clark and Jamie
Knox (both Vicksburg natives). Both Karen and Jamie will be working
diligently on this event to make it as pleasurable and memorable as
possible for the Vicksburg Community. This is their way of giving back
to the city that gave them the ability to be in the positions they are
in today.

This will be a three-day weekend filled with true excitement for the
entire family. Professional NBA, NFL, Entertainers and Actors have
been invited to participate in this historic event. Please come out and
support the 2009 NBA Championship Weekend from July 30th thru August 1,
2009. This event will be filled with exciting activities throughout
the entire weekend. Proceeds from the Josh Powell 2009 NBA Championship
Weekend will go towards Scholarships, Basketball Camps and Mentoring
Programs for the youth in the Vicksburg community. Our goal is to
continue the Basketball Camps yearly for the youth. These camps will be
a priceless experience for the youth to remember for a lifetime. Your
support and participation will play such an important role in making
this goal successful.

The purpose of the Josh Powell Celebrity Weekend is to bring awareness
to youth in the community about education, team work, and the importance
of health & fitness. The idea of bringing Professional Athletes and
Celebrities to the Vicksburg area will not only bring excitement for the
Vicksburg Community, but it will also allow the city of Vicksburg to be
known as an up and coming exclusive city to visit for Vacationing and
River Boat Casino Gambling.

Bringing such a remarkable event to the Vicksburg Area is more than an
event; this is a combination of informative information for all the
individuals, celebrities, athletes and sponsors that will be
participating. Participation in this historic event will be one
remembered year after year! We look forward to your support!
